Ruben is a shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. With over 30 years of experience, Ruben has an extensive background in international estate tax law; international estate planning; domestic estate planning; estate administration; and pre-immigration tax planning and can assist with cross border transactions including the new GILTI and FDII provisions of the 2017 Tax Act. He has worked at both corporate law firms, as well as international financial institutions. Ruben was a former associate general counsel for the Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service. He has worked for leading law firms both in Washington, D.C. as well as in Miami, in their tax and immigration departments. Ruben also worked at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Ruben was formerly the chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee, Section llE. Ruben has been included in the Global Who’s Who and the Latino American Who’s Who. A frequent lecturer on international and domestic estate tax and estate planning, Ruben has given numerous lectures globally in both English and Spanish, including at the University of Miami School of Law in the LLM Tax Program where he is an adjunct professor.
