GrayRobinson’s Kelly Jackson Authors New Food Article “Judicial Protection for Food Assistance Programmes”

Tampa, Fla – November 4, 2020 – Law Clerk Kelly Jackson, member of GrayRobinson’s food law practice group, authored the New Food article “Judicial Protection for Food Assistance Programmes.” In her article Jackson explains that as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, federal food assistance programmes are receiving judicial protection from administration cuts. The article covers the ramifications of a federal judge’s decision to strike down the current administration’s attempt to end food stamp benefits for nearly 700,000 unemployed adults. As clarified by Jackson, the decision was the result of a lawsuit filed by a coalition of 19 states, the District of Columbia, New York City, and numerous private advocacy groups against the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
