Orlando, Fla. – April 28, 2020 – Labor and employment attorney Sarah P. Reiner, shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Orlando and Tampa offices, was interviewed by NewsRadio WFLA’s AM Tampa Bay show on April 28, 2020. In the segment, "Unemployment in the State of Florida," Reiner discusses the current state of unemployment in Florida. When asked why forty percent of Florida’s unemployment claims have been denied, Reiner explains this could be a matter of duplicate claims being made through the different Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) submission avenues, information the DEO has collected related to the matter of how the individual became unemployed, or various other issues. Reiner also notes that ultimately, the DEO is the agency authorized to make benefit decisions, so all questions regarding specific claims should be directed to that agency.
