GrayRobinson’s Government Affairs and Lobby Team Instrumental in Securing Over $49 Million for Wastewater and Spring Projects Awarded to Improve Water Quality Across Florida

GrayRobinson Government Affairs and Lobby Team’s, including Dean Cannon, Chris Carmody, Carlecia Collins, Chris Dawson, Katie Flury, Jessica Love, Kim McDougal, and Kirk Pepper, advocacy efforts during the 2021 Florida Legislative Session today culminated in multiple clients receiving over $49 million in collective funding for wastewater and springs projects. The projects were awarded by Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a part of the Wastewater Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2021-22. The team successfully helped Orange County obtain $36.88 million for the Wekiva Springs Septic to Sewer Program; St. Lucie County obtain $5.75 million for the North Hutchinson Island Septic to Sewer Project; Town of Montverde obtain $4 million for Phase I of the Montverde Septic to Sewer Project; Hendry County Board of County Commissioners obtain $1.83 million for the Clewiston to Airglades Forcemain Infrastructure Project; and Clay County Utility Authority obtain $636,350 for Phase II of the Doctors Lake Septic to Sewer Project. All of these projects will play a vital role in helping improve water quality in waterbodies across Florida.
