GrayRobinson Lobby Team Helps Secure $72M in Budget Stabilization Funds for Port Canaveral

July 29, 2021

GrayRobinson today announced Robert Stuart and his team successfully assisted with an appropriation of $250M by the Florida Legislature for Florida’s 14 deep water seaports, to stabilize port budgets, replace lost revenue from the CDC’s shutdown of cruise operations, and invest in critical infrastructure. GrayRobinson client, Port Canaveral, received the largest portion of the money totaling more than $72M. Our team of advocates worked directly with Port Canaveral leadership – including CEO Captain John Murray and Vice President Diane Luensmann - the Governor’s office, the Florida Department of Transportation, House and Senate leadership, key members of the Brevard County Legislative Delegation, and appropriations staff to draft, re-draft, and finalize the most appropriate budget language for the funds’ use.
