Community Leader Forum - Orlando - Nancy Meyer, CEO and Publisher, Orlando Sentinel

ORLANDO, FL – April 24, 2015 – On April 20, 2015, GrayRobinson’s Orlando office hosted a Community Leader Forum featuring Nancy Meyer, publisher and CEO of the Orlando Sentinel. Her topic of discussion was "The Newsroom of the Future."

Meyer’s presentation focused on how the news industry has grown in the last century. From the time when newspapers were only delivered to your door, to now when you can access news anytime anywhere on your mobile, tablet or laptop device and continue to receive instant updates in real time. Meyer believes that as news progresses even more, world-class journalism will be the main driver of sales for the Sentinel.

Meyer began her role as Publisher and CEO of the Sentinel in November 2014. She is responsible for the Orlando Sentinel’s portfolio of print and digital products and suite of advertising and marketing solutions. Prior to joining the Orlando Sentinel, Meyer was Publisher of the Hartford Courant. Meyer led The Courant’s celebration of its 250th anniversary as the country’s oldest continuously published newspaper. Under her leadership, the newsroom moved to a 24/7 news organization with a focus on the digital delivery of the news through mobile and social media. Meyer began her career with Gannett newspapers in New York in 1987 before devoting nine years to Hearst Newspapers, first as display advertising director at the Times Union in Albany, and then as classified print and online sales director at the San Francisco Chronicle and sfgate.com.

Through its Community Leader Forums, GrayRobinson brings together clients, attorneys and friends of the firm to hear high-profile business and community leaders and elected officials discuss issues of importance to the state of Florida.
