GrayRobinson Lobbying Team Assists Client in Receiving Two Million Dollar Grant

ORLANDO, FL – December 20, 2019 – The GrayRobinson government affairs and lobbying team, led by Christopher T. Dawson, assisted client Gulf County in receiving a $2 million dollar grant for Hurricane Michael recovery. The Hurricane Michael State Recovery Grant Program, administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management, supports Northwest Florida’s recovery by addressing issues like revenue loss and operating deficits, which are not covered by available federal funding. During the 2019 legislative session, the GrayRobinson lobbying team helped lobby to establish this grant program.

In total, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded more than $20 million in state dollars to Panhandle communities that were affected by Hurricane Michael. The grants can also be used for infrastructure repair or replacement, beach renourishment, recreational facilities and debris removal. In a press release sent by the Governor’s Press Office on Thursday, December 19, 2019, Governor DeSantis announced "From my very first day in office, my administration has been focused on helping communities impacted by Hurricane Michael fully recover. Today we are building on that commitment to long-term recovery and I’m proud that we’re able to deliver this funding for Northwest Florida."
