MIAMI, FL – October 11, 2018 - Attorney Jack R. Reiter, shareholder and Chair of the GrayRobinson Appellate Practice Department, successfully defended his client, Highland Stucco and Lime Products Inc., a California construction supply company, in a lawsuit alleging its asbestos-containing products gave a Florida man mesothelioma. The Third District Court of Appeal held that the plaintiffs failed to demonstrate the construction supply company had sufficient contacts with Florida to be sued in the state. The Court decision also made clear that an out-of-state company must intentionally direct its products to Florida to be subject to specific jurisdiction therein.
