Florida Prepares to Launch Limited Medical Marijuana: Richard Blau Interviewed by CNBC

TAMPA, FL – July 26, 2016 – Richard M. Blau, the department chair of GrayRobinson’s Nationwide Alcohol Law, Food Law and Regulated Products Law group was interviewed for the CNBC article, "Florida Prepares to Launch Limited Medical Marijuana Market Next Week." Speaking from the firm’s Tampa law office, Blau discusses the reasons there are so few dispensaries licensed to sell in Florida, and provides input on next steps for the emerging industry as Florida launches into the legalized production, processing, distribution and sale of medical marijuana.

As Blau noted in the interview, Florida’s legalization of marijuana remains in the early stages: ""It is still a very controlled, closely tailored and very heavily regulated structure." Because this process is still on "the ground floor," legal guidance and legislative input will be critical to future success.

Richard and the professionals comprising GrayRobinson’s Regulated Products Law team provide multi-disciplined support and guidance to businesses and entrepreneurs seeking success in regulated industries such as Alcohol, Cosmetics, Food, Firearms, Tobacco and Cannabis/Marijuana who are navigating the new Florida medical marijuana landscape. The team also works closely with representatives of state and federal government, drafting administrative rules and proposed legislation – both on behalf of clients and at the request of regulators.
