Jason W. Searl Selected as Chair of City of Orlando Board of Zoning Adjustment

ORLANDO, Fla. (September 3, 2009) -- Jason W. Searl, Of Counsel attorney in the Orlando office of GrayRobinson, P.A., was recently selected to chair the City of Orlando's Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA), one of four City Planning Division citizen boards.

"This is a very big honor for me and an even bigger opportunity," says Searl, a real estate and government relations attorney. "This board is the ideal way to put my skills in both real estate and government relations to use in order to enhance the community."

The BZA reviews and recommends action to the City Council on zoning variance issues and appeals, including Modifications of Development Standards requests and Zoning Official Determinations. The BZA also reviews any requirement, order, decision or determination made by the appearance review officer. Other citizen boards within the city's planning division include Municipal Planning Board, Historic Preservation Board, and Downtown Development Review Board.

Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Jason was the founding partner of Jason W. Searl, P.A. in Orlando. Jason concentrates his practice in the areas of banking, corporate, environmental, government, land use and real estate. He is active in his community, serving as a member of the Urban Land Institute, among many others. Searl is an alumnus of Stetson University where he received his Juris Doctorate and his Masters in Business Administration.
