TAMPA, FL – October 28, 2019 – Labor and employment attorney Sacha Dyson, shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Tampa law firm office, presented "Top 10 Reasons Why Shelters Are Sued by Their Employees," at the Eighth Annual Shelter Law Symposium hosted by the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association (ABA) on October 9, 2019, at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida. The conference brings together attorneys who practice in the area of animal law, nonprofit organization, employment law, general civil litigation and municipal law, as well as board members and directors of animal shelters and animal services to discuss the trends and regulations in animal law. 

Program highlights included "Privatizing Field Services: Logistical, Contractual, Policy and Legal Considerations," "Pets Ad Litem, and Other Innovations in Tallahassee," "Shelter Animal Transport and the Law," and "The Ethics of Representation of Animal Shelters." Sacha's presentation, "Top 10 Reasons Why Shelters Are Sued by Their Employees," discussed why shelter employees sue their former employers and what steps shelters can take to minimize the risk from such lawsuits.
