GrayRobinson Sponsors the 23rd Annual Merrill Lynch/Bank of America Champions for Children Dare to Dream Gala

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – October 24, 2019 – GrayRobinson, led by Daniel Alter, a shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Fort Lauderdale law firm office, was a sponsor at the 23rd Annual Merrill Lynch/Bank of America Champions for Children Dare to Dream Gala on October 17, 2019 at the Florida Blue Conference Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Gala, supporting the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation (MWYF), welcomed more than 500 business professionals, community leaders, and valued partners. The special event included dinner, both a live and silent auction, and inspiring words from founder and former tennis pro MaliVai Washington. The Gala is MWYF’s most important fundraising event of the year, providing a sizable percentage of the organization’s annual operating budget, critical funding relied upon in executing the mission of developing champions in classrooms, on tennis courts, and throughout communities. As MWYF expands its services to teens with the opening of the MWYF Teen Center in 2020, GrayRobinson’s bronze level sponsorship helped the Foundation reach its $5 million goal.

The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation is an afterschool youth development nonprofit providing homework assistance, life skills, and tennis instruction to underserved youth. Located in Jacksonville’s most challenged zip code, MWYF is focused on students with the most need. The Foundation strives to give youth the resources they need to rise to their full potential and become contributing members of society. To learn more about MWYF, click here.
