MIAMI, FL – October 9, 2019 – GrayRobinson attorney Peter Quinter, chair of the firm’s U.S. Customs and International Trade Law practice group, located in the Boca Raton law firmMiami law firm and Fort Lauderdale law firm offices, will present on the SeafoodSource webinar, "Winning the War for Your Changing International Supply Chain" on October 30, 2019.

His presentation will cover the basics of tariff classification of seafood, country of origin marking of seafood, and the assessment of antidumping and countervailing duties on imported seafood products. Quinter will also discuss the impacts on the seafood industry of President Trump's trade war with China, how to do a "substantial transformation," of seafood to avoid extra tariffs, submitting a ruling request to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and what to do if U.S. Customs or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration detains or seizes merchandise or assesses a monetary penalty for illegally transshipping it with the false country of origin. 

This webinar will also offer seafood companies a way to analyze its existing tariff exposure and provide these companies with the steps necessary to achieve the lowest tariff rates available. Learn more about the webinar here
