ORLANDO, FL – June 3, 2014 – Christopher L. Carmody, Jr., Shareholder, and Robert F. Stuart, Jr., Government Affairs Director, both in GrayRobinson’s Orlando office, are presenting at the Volusia Council of Governments and Volusia County Association for Responsible Development’s Legislative Update. They will discuss hot topics from the 2014 Session including, $500M tax/fee cut, member projects, professional sports stadiums, medical marijuana, gambling, pension reform, local government issues, and many more. The event will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Stuart’s lobbying experience includes representing clients of all shapes, sizes and interests. From public sector clients, such as cities, law enforcement offices and clerks of courts, to Fortune 500 companies, he interacts with every committee and every legislator in Tallahassee regardless of party affiliation. Stuart has considerable experience with the long-term challenges of creating and passing landmark legislation that transforms public policy, including the establishment of a new medical school at the University of Central Florida, charter school reformation, economic development incentives and SunRail advocacy.

Carmody earned his certification as a Designated Professional Lobbyist from the Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists and is an attorney admitted to practice in all Florida state courts. He has substantial experience handling government relations matters, including representation before the Florida legislative and executive branches, purchasing and procurement appeals, and professional licensing. His clients range from small cities to Fortune 500 companies, and his experience runs the gamut of state-level needs and issues, from the passing of landmark legislation to proficiency on the appropriations process.
