ORLANDO, FL – May 22, 2014 – Joseph R. Fitos, Shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Orlando office, presented at the Special Program for In-House Counsel & Risk Managers 53rd Annual Meeting of Invited Attorneys (AMIA) in Boston, Massachusetts on May 21, 2014. Participation in this conference is by invitation only. Fitos’ presentation topic was “How Important is Your Choice of Law Provision?” The discussion examined potential advantages and disadvantages of using contractual choice of law provisions, using a firm’s experience defending itself against a claim brought in one state by using the contractual choice of law provision to apply the law of the state of the firm’s home office.

Fitos focuses in the areas of commercial and construction litigation as well as professional liability defense. His commercial litigation practice focuses on complex business disputes and complex, commercial landlord-tenant actions. For matters pertaining to construction litigation and professional liability defense, he represents a wide range of clients including engineers, architects, developers, owners, contractors and insurers, involving a broad scope of construction disputes as well as claims involving catastrophic injuries. Fitos also has trial experience in various fields including medical malpractice defense, complex tort claims and products liability.
