GrayRobinson's recent Community Leader Forum was held on January 21, 2014 at The Lakeland Yacht and Country Club and featured Adam Putnam, Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture.
Putnam was elected in a statewide vote on November 2, 2010, and sworn in to a four-year term on January 3, 2011. Prior to being elected Commissioner of Agriculture, Adam was a strong, conservative voice in the U.S. Congress and the Florida House of Representatives and served ten years as a U.S. Congressman.
Putnam’s presentation focused on the improvement of Florida’s economy, outlining the lack of a statewide water policy as a potential obstacle to that improvement moving forward. In addition to his proposed water policy this year, Putnam said two major issues will be nutrition, particularly in schools' meals programs, and a strong, more dependable energy policy.
Through its Community Leader Forums, GrayRobinson brings together clients, attorneys and friends of the firm to hear high-profile business and community leaders and elected officials discuss issues of importance to the state of Florida.
