Community Leader Forum - Orlando - Lars D. Houmann, President and CEO of Florida Hospital

GrayRobinson's recent Community Leader Forum held on August 14, 2013 in the firm's downtown Orlando office featured Lars D. Houmann, President and CEO of Florida Hospital.

Houmann has been president and CEO of Florida Hospital since 2006. He is a member of the board of the Florida Hospital Association, a member of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission executive committee, a member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce board of directors and chair of bioOrlando.

Houmann explained that the new health care payment reform means transforming the future of health care to a new model from what we’ve grown accustomed to over the last century. It’s basically moving toward something that will bend the cost curve of health care by pushing toward payment for results and payment for even keeping people well, and taking a broader responsibility for the health of the community.  He is optimistic that healthcare will improve in Florida and Florida Hospital is working vigorously to implement changes that will allow it to thrive in such increasingly changing environment.

Through its Community Leader Forums, GrayRobinson brings together clients, attorneys and friends of the firm to hear high-profile business and community leaders and elected officials discuss issues of importance to the state of Florida.
