Mayanne Downs to Serve as Panelist at Pro Bono Panel

ORLANDO, FL - Mayanne Downs, Shareholder, has been selected to serve as a panelist at the Pro Bono Panel on September 18, 2013 at GrayRobinson's Orlando office. The Legal Marketing Association Southeastern Chapter - Orlando City Group (LMA) and Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF) are hosting the panel presentation that will bring together jurists, legal aid organizations, in-house counsel and attorneys at law firms to explore how to incorporate pro bono into a law firm business model. Downs has served as the city attorney of Orlando since 2007, where she oversees 25 lawyers and provides counsel to the mayor and city commission. In addition, she served as the former president of The Florida Bar in 2010-11, as well as president of the Orange County Bar Association, the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association and the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

She received both her Juris Doctor and undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida. Downs graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Florida Law School, serving in two senior editorial positions on the law review, the Chancellor of the Student Honor Court and a member of Florida Blue Key. She was inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame, and Order of the Coif.
