Pablo has experience in all facets of intellectual property procurement, analysis, and transactions and focuses his practice on patent and trademark prosecution, IP due diligence, IP opinions, license agreements, and patent litigation support. He has filed and prosecuted complex patent applications involving a wide range of electrical, mechanical, and medical technologies including wireless communications, computer and computer networks, semiconductors, heart monitoring systems, acoustic systems, consumer products, and software-based technologies including business methods among others. He has also supported complex trademark, trade dress, copyright, and design patent infringement lawsuits.

In addition to his electrical engineering background, Pablo is a patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

  • Background

    Born in Cuba and raised on Miami Beach, Pablo went on to graduate "Beach High," attend Brown University, graduate from the University of Miami with a bachelors in electrical engineering, and receive his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University. Additionally, Pablo is a Florida Board Certified Intellectual Property Attorney and registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Pablo spent several years in-house at Motorola as a Senior Patent Attorney before becoming a Shareholder of Akerman, and also a chief intellectual property officer at a medical technology related startup. He is also an avid marathoner and bicyclist having qualified to Boston and New York City marathons several times.
