GrayRobinson Announces Addition of Regulated Products Practice Group

Orlando, FL – July 22, 2014 – GrayRobinson, P.A., announced today the addition of its new Regulated Products Practice Group that will advise businesses in regulated industries, including Florida’s newly legalized medical marijuana industry.  Our regulated products attorneys will counsel clients through local, state, federal and international compliance issues to help them successfully navigate regulations applicable to the manufacturing, ordering, distribution, marketing, sale, administration and consumption of various products.

GrayRobinson’s attorneys and compliance professionals will provide counsel and comprehensive legal representation to clients in regulated product marketplaces.  Legal services offered through the Firm’s Regulated Products Practice Group will include counsel on all aspects of these cutting-edge industries, including:

  • Banking: Counseling clients who are addressing the challenges of establishing formal banking relations in the context of previously prohibited industries.  The banking team members are experienced banking regulatory compliance and white-collar criminal attorneys who can help navigate the U.S. Department of Justice and Treasury’s banking enforcement policies for regulated business.
  • Corporate Formation: Counseling companies through the corporate creation and expansion process by providing guidance regarding the structure and mechanics required to create and sustain growth. 
  • Labor and Employment: Working with employers within regulated products industries and those in related or impacted industries to ensure compliance with applicable labor and employment laws.
  • Government Relations/Lobbying: Representing the legislative and regulatory interests of businesses that are preparing to enter a regulated products industry in Florida.
  • Health Care: Helping health care industry clients obtain and maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements on the state level, as well as providing counsel on how to avoid violation of applicable federal laws.  The team will advise and counsel health care providers regarding registration with the state to order medical-use regulated products for patients (including medical marijuana,) the requirements for patients to possess and use these products, and avoidance of penalties and/or liability either party may face for non-compliance with state and federal law.
  • Intellectual Property: Helping clients protect creations and innovations from unauthorized use and exploitation by third parties through assistance with obtaining and defending copyrights, trademarks, patents and trade secrets.
  • Land Use: Handling a variety of land use proceedings, including land code review, zoning, variances, special exceptions, and developments agreements.
  • Licensing and Regulatory Compliance: Counseling manufacturers, growers, processors, distributors and retail dispensaries on how to maintain licensure requirements, meet compliance responsibilities and achieve business objectives.
  • Taxation: Providing tax compliance guidance and structuring transactions to facilitate tax planning and avoidance.
