GAINESVILLE, FL – March 20, 2014 – GrayRobinson announced that it has been become a DECA sponsor of the Florida Innovation Hub at the University of Florida. Each year, only 10 corporate sponsors are selected to participate in this DECA sponsored program. The sponsorship position allows companies to advance the innovative pursuits of tech start-ups and provide them with mentorship, advice and opportunities for growth.  GrayRobinson formally opened an office within the Innovation Square last year.

"It is important for us to actively engage with business and community members who have innovative business ideas – particularly in the regions where we have offices," said President and Managing Director Byrd F. "Biff" Marshall, Jr.

As a DECA sponsor of the Innovation Hub, GrayRobinson will contribute their time to assist innovators and new companies by setting up workshops and other events throughout the year that will provide useful information and insights to Innovation Hub participants. "The Innovation Hub provides a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to launch and grow successful  businesses, and we are glad to come alongside with our expertise and network to assist here in Gainesville and all around Florida," said Gainesville and Orlando-based shareholder, Thomas C. McThenia, Jr.

The Florida Innovation Hub at UF serves as a catalyst for creating and nurturing technology-based startup companies. While the Hub provides startup companies with office space, laboratories, conference rooms and other resources, the weekly events and programs are a key element to accelerating the success of these companies by ensuring the collision of entrepreneurs, investors, faculty, alums, students and service providers.

The Florida Innovation Hub is a highly-competitive program that aims to help entrepreneurial endeavors. To qualify for admission into the Florida Innovation Hub program, a company must be a technology-based startup that plans to develop and market science- and technology-based products. The program is designed to provide assistance in a multitude of areas to position them for future success so that upon graduation the company is well-positioned to move into a more permanent space.
