Tallahassee, Fla. – May 6, 2020 – Litigation attorney George T. Levesque, shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Tallahassee law firm office was featured in the Daily Business Review article "In History-Making First Online Arguments, Florida Supreme Court Tackles Marijuana Legalization." Levesque is presented in the article for taking part in the Florida Supreme Court's first remote oral arguments that took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. First on the docket was a proposed amendment decriminalizing the adult possession of up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana under state law, and allowing medical marijuana centers to also sell the drug for recreational purposes. The court must decide whether the proposal meets two legal requirements: containing only a single subject and having a fair ballot summary. Levesque, who represents Make It Legal Florida, called the 75-word ballot summary clear and unambiguous, and stressed that the court has never found it has an obligation to inform voters about the current status or impact on federal law.
