The article discusses the case in which the US has accused two Ecuadorean businessmen of bribery in connection with its investigation into corruption at Petroecuador, Ecuador’s state-owned oil company. Armengol Alfonso Cevallos Diaz and Jose Melquiades Cisneros Alarcon were indicted on 11 counts of money laundering and conspiracy linked to $4.4m in bribes they and unnamed co-conspirators allegedly paid Petroecuador officials.
