Mayanne Downs Named 2019 CEO of the Year

ORLANDO, FL – April 3, 2019 – Mayanne Downs, GrayRobinson’s third consecutive president and managing director, was named as one of Orlando Business Journal’s 2019 CEOs of the year. Downs’ unwavering vision for GrayRobinson from the start of her role as president and managing director in the fall of 2016 has earned her a spot on the list of top-level executives at companies, organizations and agencies based in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Volusia and Brevard counties. Along with the natural ability to lead their respective companies, the 19 individuals honored possess a strong record of innovation and are actively involved in the community. The list highlights Downs’ pioneering achievement as the first women leader of a large Southeastern law firm and the inspiration she has become to young women attorneys across the state.

Not only is she the first woman to hold position as President at GrayRobinson, Downs is also the first woman to be appointed as City Attorney for Orlando. Her other past experiences include serving as president of the Orange County Bar Association, the Legal Aid Society, the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the 100,000 member Florida Bar. Most recently she was appointed to Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried’s Inaugural Host Committee.

The honorees will be featured in OBJ’s May 10, 2019, weekly edition and the 2019 CEOs of the Year Awards Luncheon will take place on May 10 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.
