Dean Cannon Appointed to Enterprise Florida and Space Florida Board of Directors

TALLAHASSEE, FL – March 26, 2019 – GrayRobinson, P.A. announces that Dean Cannon has been appointed to the board of directors for Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) and Space Florida by Senate President Bill Galvano. EFI and Space Florida are both chaired by Governor Ron DeSantis.

The Enterprise Florida, Inc. board is an alliance of Florida businesses, trade organizations, educational institutions, governments and economic development organizations. As a member of the board, Cannon will be a part of the economic development effort on behalf of the state, helping shape the economy by creating and retaining quality jobs for all Floridians.

The Space Florida board includes representatives from all areas of the State’s space industry and members appointed by the Governor, the Speaker of the House, and the Senate President. In this role, Cannon will provide strategic direction and input to Space Florida’s functions of Business Development and Finance, Spaceport Operations, and R&D and workforce Development.  

Cannon has practiced state and local government law since 1995. He served an eight-year tenure in the Florida House of Representatives and in 2010 was selected by his peers to become Speaker of the House until his term ended in 2012. His Legislative and Executive Branch lobbying experience includes representing private clients and local government entities on issues including transportation, education, health care, insurance and appropriations matters. He has also handled civil litigation, administrative law, and regulatory matters before the Division of Administrative Hearings, and appellate matters before district courts of appeal and the Florida Supreme Court. Cannon currently serves as GrayRobinson’s Executive Vice President and Chair of Government Affairs.
