Kim McDougal Appointed to Governor-Elect Ron DeSantis’ Education and Workforce Development Transition Advisory Committee

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – December 13, 2018 – GrayRobinson senior government affairs consultant, Kim McDougal, Ph.D., was recently appointed to Governor-Elect Ron DeSantis’ Transition Advisory Committee for Education and Workforce Development.

The Committee is comprised of 40 advisors, including representatives from Florida’s public school system, local school board members and current and former leaders of Florida’s higher education system. The Committee will focus on developing and implementing DeSantis’ vision of ensuring that every student in Florida has the chance to receive a world-class education and develop the skills needed to pursue their dreams and obtain employment.

Dr. McDougal lobbies across a wide range of policy areas on behalf of public and private clients. She brings almost three decades of education policy knowledge and experience to GrayRobinson’s lobbying practice, having served in multiple leadership roles at the Department of Education, including Governmental Relations Director and Senior Policy Advisor for several Commissioners of Education. Her most recent role prior to joining the Firm was as Chief of Staff to Florida Governor Rick Scott. In this role, she was responsible for directly serving and advising the Governor on issues pertaining to 100,000 plus executive branch employees and administered an $83 billion state budget.
