GrayRobinson Community Leader Forum Featured in The Ledger

LAKELAND, FL -- October 24, 2017 – GrayRobinson’s Lakeland law office was featured in The Ledger article "Delgado, Giddens talk up progress in Lakeland." On October 17, 2017, GrayRobinson hosted a Community Leader Forum (CLF) featuring Tony Delgado, City Manager for the City of Lakeland and Chief Larry Giddens, Chief of Police for the City of Lakeland. Delgado and Giddens discussed topics related to Lakeland’s financial situation, city projects, the city’s community-oriented policing services and officer-related shootings. The CLF was held at Grasslands Golf and Country Club.

Tony Delgado accepted the role of City Manager on January 4, 2016. He began work with the City of Lakeland in January 1997 as Assistant Director for The Lakeland Center and went on to become the Assistant City Manager/Deputy City Manager in November 2000. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Community/Commercial Recreation from Southern Illinois University. 

Chief Larry Giddens began his law enforcement career in 1984 as an  Auxiliary Police Officer with the Lakeland Police Department. He was hired full time by the Department in 1985 with patrol assignments including Field Training Officer, Honor Guard and Uniform Crime Scene Technician. Giddens was promoted to the Chief of Police in December 2014. He has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Polk Community College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from Saint Leo University. He is a Certified Public Manager through Florida State University and graduated from the Senior Management Institute for Police in July 2011.
