ORLANDO, FL – Tuesday, May 9, 2017 – Earl M. Crittenden, Jr., of counsel attorney in GrayRobinson’s Orlando law firm office, was selected to serve as chair of the onePULSE Foundation Board of Trustees.
In a press conference held last week in front of Pulse Nightclub on Orange Avenue, Barbara Poma, owner of the nightclub introduced Crittenden and the prestigious Board of Trustees for the onePULSE Foundation. The Board was created to oversee the establishment of a permanent, national memorial on site at Pulse Nightclub, which became the scene of the nation’s worst mass shooting on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Poma, who serves as CEO and Executive Director of the foundation, explained that the effort to establish a national memorial will involve significant community engagement from volunteers, including victims’ families and survivors.
"When I asked Earl if he would take on this leadership role, he didn’t hesitate," Poma said. "He has been by my side since helping me prepare for this moment and the work that lies ahead. Without question, he is the right leader for this project."
"Like everyone around the world, I was simply rocked to my core when this tragedy occurred in my home town," Crittenden said. "I am honored to be a part of creating a national memorial to help create a place for healing. Working with Barbara, who continues to show remarkable grace and dignity as she begins to move this project forward, has been nothing short of amazing. We will not let hate win."
The Foundation expects the memorial to open sometime in 2020.
