GrayRobinson Crosses State Lines Securing Funding for Client

ORLANDO, FL – February 24, 2017 – GrayRobinson, P.A. was successful in assisting client The Transition House in securing funding to expand their programming into Alabama with a new facility in Dothan. Currently, they only have locations in Florida, but are looking to expand into the Southeastern United States.

GrayRobinson lobbyist Christopher T. Dawson was successful in helping the Transition House obtain funding from the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles for a 70-bed Residential Re-entry and Diversion program in Dothan, Alabama. This program provides treatment, training and therapy to empower individuals to choose a healthier way of life after incarceration. With programs like these, The Transition House works to reduce the recidivism rate for criminal activity and enrich lives of the communities the offenders enter once they complete the program.

Dawson, who is also licensed to practice law in Alabama, was instrumental in working with Alabama legislators and government officials to secure the new facility.

"We are both extremely grateful and impressed with the efforts of GrayRobinson in obtaining the contract with the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles," said Dr. Tom Griffin, CEO and Founder of The Transition House. "Chris’s efforts and expertise were invaluable in navigating us through Alabama’s government. Our leap into Alabama is the fulfillment of a goal we set over a year ago to grow our business beyond the Florida state line and marks only the beginning of our aggressive expansion efforts. With GrayRobinson as our teammates, we will continue to expand our footprint across Alabama and throughout the Southeast in order to reduce recidivism through proven substance abuse, mental health, educational, vocational and life skills programming."

The Transition House offers multiple programs at various facilities throughout Florida, supporting veterans, offenders, homeless persons and those affected by substance abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety, ADHD and PTSD. Over the next several years, GrayRobinson will continue to work to help grow Transition House facilities in Alabama, with hopes to also expand into Tennessee and Louisiana.
