Seven Associates Join GrayRobinson

FLORIDA – October 26, 2016 – GrayRobinson is pleased to announce that seven associates have joined the firm in various offices across the state.

Jeff Aaron, Trace H. Jackson and Daniel J. Kavanaugh join the Orlando office.

Aaron focuses his practice on litigation and intellectual property. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Jeff served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Jeffrey Levenson of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He also served as a law clerk in Florida Governor Rick Scott’s Office of the General Counsel, at William Morris Endeavor’s Music Division and at the University of Florida’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel.

Jackson joins the intellectual property practice group. Prior to joining the firm, he was a research assistant at the University of Florida where he conducted research on the legal implications of the crypto-currency Bitcoin and developed MATLAB software. He also served as a mathematical consultant at a law firm in Jacksonville creating formulas, algorithms and statistical testing to obtain necessary data to pursue settlements.

Kavanaugh focuses his practice on litigation. Before deciding to pursue a career in the field of law, he served three years in the United States Army on Active Duty and another 11 years in the Florida Army National Guard. After being honorably discharged, he was a legal intern at an AmLaw 100 law firm in New York City and a summer associate at GrayRobinson. While in law school, he became a mock trial competition champion at both the state and national levels and served as President of the Student Bar Association.

Hannah Becker joins the Tampa office in the firm’s nationwide alcohol beverage and food law departments. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Jerald Bagley of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was also a legal intern for the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America and a legal analyst for Ultra Music Festival.

Jennifer Boyer joins the Gainesville and Jacksonville offices. Her practice includes intellectual property, corporate, technology, internet and software, licensing and commercial transactions. While pursuing her degree, Boyer interned at the Massachusetts State Police Office of Alcohol Testing. During law school, she interned with Banyan Biomarkers General Counsel’s Office, Three Rivers Legal Services and for the Honorable Judge Robert Fegers of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.

Bertila "Bily" L. Fernandez joins the Miami office. She focuses her practice on litigation matters. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Fernandez served as a judicial intern in Florida and Federal courts, including for the Honorable R. Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court, the Honorable Adalberto Jordan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit as well as the Honorable Federico Moreno of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Drew S. Haggard joins the Fort Lauderdale office, focusing his practice on litigation matters. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable John E. Jordan of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Osceola County. He also worked as a law clerk for GrayRobinson’s Orlando and Fort Lauderdale offices.
