Biography

Carlos is a shareholder in GrayRobinson's Miami office. He has a diverse practice representing national and international corporations and individuals on a wide variety of matters. Carlos represents clients in litigation/arbitration matters, corporate work, transactions and government relations. His areas of concentration include energy and natural resources, corporate and financial services, franchising and distribution, international asset recovery, international litigation and arbitration, and venture capital.

  • Representation of the second largest producer of generic pesticides in the world in ICDR arbitration in claims and counterclaims arising from acquisition of a Colombian subsidiary
  • Representation of a Japanese conglomerate’s food division in AAA arbitration arising from contract dispute with a U.S.-based corporation
  • Representation of two companies in obtaining a combined $51 million judgment against the government of the Dominican Republic for breach of contracts for the design, development and construction of a national irrigation system to develop the agricultural industry in the country, as well and the breach of a financing agreement with guarantees from the U.S. export import bank
  • Serve as external counsel to a satellite provider to telecommunications companies in Central and South America and Africa.  Representation includes arbitration against Russian state-owned satellite operator
  • Represented one of two shareholders in a “corporate divorce,” which included assets in Peru, Ecuador, and the U.S.
