Biography

Ashlea is an associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office who practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, bankruptcy, appeals, and corporate transactions.  Ashlea also has had the opportunity to gain both trial and appellate experience.

Background

Ashlea was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Louisiana State University where she obtained bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Psychology. While at LSU, Ashlea also obtained a paralegal certificate and worked at the Louisiana Department of Justice as a paralegal intern in the Criminal Division of the Attorney General’s Office. After LSU, Ashlea worked for two years as a Senior Paralegal focusing on personal injury, medical license defense, and pharmaceutical and medical device recall cases.

Falling in love with her work in the legal profession, Ashlea obtained her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in May 2015. During law school, Ashlea traveled to Geneva, Switzerland for an internship at the World Health Organization in the Headquarters Board of Appeal Department, where she worked  on internal employment issues.  Also during law school, Ashlea served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Monte C. Richardson, Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida. 

Due to her past experience as a suicide prevention and crisis counselor, Ashlea has a passion for mental health related issues.  In law school, Ashlea served as a Research Assistant with a focus on Mental Health.  Currently, Ashlea sits on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Health and Wellness Committee, where she focuses her attention on making mental health a priority in the legal profession.
