This week's abbreviated issue discusses Congress' vote to extend the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through August 8. Also among the topics discussed: the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee held on Tuesday, June 30 to talk about what reopening the nation’s schools will require, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's (FDIC) announcement that it has launched a competition to develop new tools for financial reporting, particularly for community banks.
