George Meros, Jr. and Ashley Hoffman contributed an article titled "Legal Fact and Fiction: The Contradiction and Expansion of Florida's Collateral-Source Rule" to the January 2016 issue of the Washington Legal Foundation Counsel's Advisory newsletter. In the article, they discuss a recent supreme court case which held that evidence of eligibility for future benefits from Medicare, Medicaid, and other social legislation was inadmissible at trial as those benefits constituted collateral sources, re-expanding the legal fiction that is Florida’s collateral-source rule.
