MIAMI, FL – June 5, 2019 – Joseph R. Salzverg, associate and government consultant in GrayRobinson’s Miami and Tallahassee offices, was quoted in the Miami Today article “Downtown Tallies Legislative Wins but Worries About Vetoes.” The article discusses Miami’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the several victories they scored in Florida’s 2019 Legislative Session. But as Salzverg declares in the article, the DDA’s wins are at risk depending on the stroke of the governor’s veto pen. “We’re all on pins and needles, since this is his first year as governor,” said Salzverg referring to the 2019-20 budget bill that had not yet been sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis. He also referenced the not as “lucky” Visit Florida and Enterprise Florida corporations, of which House Speaker José Oliva said “Florida promotes itself.” Salzverg refuted the legislature’s decision to not pass the film incentive to bring more projects to Florida, saying “we’re not going to let this go away.” Read the full article here.
