Richard Blau Quoted in Arkansas Democrat Gazette

TAMPA, FL – February 2, 2020 – GrayRobinson's regulated products law department chair, Richard M. Blau, was quoted in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette article "Product Billed as Niche Tool for Pot Trade." The article discusses ZenCanna, a software designed by the company Zenwork Inc., to help cannabis companies manage their complex compliance issues. According to Zenwork, Inc., ZenCanna was designed to streamline sales, marketing and operations for cannabis dispensaries, distributors, wholesalers, processors and cultivators, and also automate tax calculations and provide automated e-filing and remittance.

Blau notes that the product appears to fill a void in the emerging cannabis marketplace, which is laden with burdensome rules. "It could be indispensable," said Blau of the product and its potential capabilities to inhabit extensive and detailed records from the production, logistics, storage and retail process.

ZenCanna uses payment and banking technologies such as Hyper, a software that gives operators the transparency needed to comply with government regulations whether dealing with cash or electronic alternative transactions. According to Blau, this feature is particularly important because cannabis is illegal in the eyes of the federal government and banks are at risk of losing access to important federal programs such as FDIC insurance and Federal Reserve funds if they work with a cannabis operation.
